Posting of Action Research Plan

My action research plan.

Click on the above link for my action research plan. Kudos and thanks to Richard Keithley for his detailed instructions as to how to link this! I would have NEVER figured it out.

Just to update: My computer now works; I got my car back today - son's truck is still smashed...yeah I destroyed two vehicles in one fell swoop...therefore last week I was a little off...

I feel like I am back among the living...all of my Lamar friends and I am glad...hated the way I felt last week!

PLEASE read and comment on my plan...I would love all comments and feedback!

My plate is full but I am raring to go!

  1. Great job on your action research plan! I get so excited reading the plans and wanting to know the outcomes of all the surveys and questionaires. The plan seems to very thorough. I like how you even incorporated the legal side of dress code issues by involving a lawyer. It was a very important consideration to not infringe on anyone's rights.

I like how you centered all your decisions around a committee and heavily used surveys for research. This allows more people to have an opinion. For my action research, I might consider adding a couple different memebers to a committee.

  2. Holly, your action research project looks very thorough! I like the way you are publicizing the dress code. You are touching all bases on this issue. The documentation will be very useful, when out of the blue some parent comes into school and says "I did not know about it and who... and what... (raising all sorts of questions.)."

One thing I would like to suggest. If you have children whose parents will not be able to afford uniform(s), will you have something in place to help the families out? The reason for this, is that at my school, we sometimes get children who have other brothers and sisters in our school. Sometimes, this can become a burden to some families. We have something in place to help these parents with this situation.

    Great Job!

By the way, will you please share Richard's detailed instructions? If so, send them to lcadena@yisd.net

  3. Holly,
Very in depth plan as I expected it to be from you. I like how you went so far as to think of the possible "infringement issue." I am not sure I would have thought about that even though I am in Special Education, lol. The idea of uniforms or uniform dress is an intriguing issue and I lool forward to what conclusions you come up with. By the way, thanks for the kudos but no thanks needed. I am just glad to be able to help!

  4. Yes Leticia...already ahead of you on the question of affordability...that's why I want to include members of the community and the PTA. Our PTA raises a LOT of money...I want some of this money to be set aside for the purchase of uniforms for those who cannot afford them. My heart is for that child that needs a hand up...so that will be ONE OF MY FIRST CONSIDERATIONS! Thank you for having the same heart!
